article imageNBA Scores: Bulls defense throttles Rockets 111-87

By Larry Seely     Mar 13, 2014 in Sports
Chicago - Despite the loss of All Star point guard Derrick Rose at the beginning of the 2013-14 NBA season, the Chicago Bulls have a winning record this year and are probably playing their best basketball in two years at this time.
Center Joakim Noah helped lead a strong defensive effort on Thursday night as the Bulls pounded Houston 111-87. The veteran nearly had a triple-double, scoring 13 points, hauling down 10 rebounds, and dishing out nine assists before the home crowd.
All five starters scored in double figures, led by Mike Dunleavy with 21 points, but the eight steals, four blocked shots, and 16 forced turnovers are what carried this team to victory.
Houston had just one starter score in double figures. Dwight Howard had 12 points and 10 rebounds on the night. Jeremy Lin came off the bench to lead the Rockets in scoring with 21 points, but the team as a group managed just 28 made shots from the floor as Houston fell to 44-21 on the year.
Chicago is now 36-29 and holding a slim two game lead over Brooklyn for the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are a dangerous franchise and with a few more games like this under the belt, this team could be tough to beat in the upcoming NBA Playoffs.
