article imageNBA Scores: 76ers hand LA Lakers fifth straight defeat

By Larry Seely     Dec 30, 2013 in Sports
Los Angeles - Life for the LA Lakers is just getting harder as the famed NBA franchise is suffering through one of their worst years in recent history.
Sunday night the Philadelphia 76ers came to town, winners of just one road game all season, but Philly handed Los Angeles their fifth straight loss with a 111-104 victory at the Staples Center.
Thaddeus Young led the way for Philly, scoring 25 points, including seven in the fourth period. Evan Turner added 22 points and center Spencer Hawes added 19 points and eight rebounds to give the team their first win on the road since November 1.
The LA Lakers were once again without the services of Pau Gasol and with Kobe Bryant lost for the season, finding some leadership on the floor has been tough.
Nick Young came off the bench to lead the team in scoring with 26 points, but the small forward made just 6 of 21 shots from the floor and the team made just 31 total shots from the floor for the game.
