article imageNBA Rumors: Rudy Gay to Phoenix Suns?

By Larry Seely     Feb 10, 2014 in Sports
Phoenix - The Phoenix Suns could be the most surprising team in the NBA, but the front office is looking for more and several rumors have surfaced about possible deals that could take place before the upcoming trade deadline or before the start of next season.
Phoenix is looking to ad some star power to the solid lineup they already have in place. Recent reports had the team looking at adding LA Lakers veteran forward Pau Gasol in a trade, but now the attention has turned to Sacramento Kings small forward Rudy Gay.
Gay moved from Memphis to Toronto, but the Raptors then traded the talented 27 year-old to Sacramento this season. The 27 year-old has a player option for next season and with a $19 million price tag, it's hard to imagine the Kings paying that salary while still struggling to win games.
Phoenix is reportedly not scared away from his big salary and even the talks for Gasol would have brought a big money contract, but ownership is interested in winning basketball games and it now appears that the Suns will make a move before the February 20 deadline.
The good news for any NBA team looking to deal with the Phoenix Suns is the amount of draft picks this team has in 2014. For a team looking to add a veteran player, they have the ability to keep their roster intact and use draft choices as a tool to find the player they want and possibly turn this team into one of the top squads in the Western Conference.
