NBA Rumors: Hassan Whiteside to Chicago Bulls?

Joakim Noah, known for his hustle and determination, missed over half the year and many experts believe his durability could have him playing elsewhere next season. Couple that with Pau Gasol becoming a free agent and the front office will need to find some depth at center.

Despite Miami making it to the second round of the playoffs, rumors have already surfaced on where Hassan Whiteside could play next year if he decides not to re-sign with the Heat.

The 26-year-old was drafted by Sacramento in 2010, but failed to impress the Kings. After missing the entire next two years, the former second-round draft pick has found his game with Miami, averaging 13 points and nearly 11 rebounds since joining the Heat.

Those numbers and his age have made the seven-footer a big commodity and that will make him a ton of money this summer, but the bigger question is where will big man play next season.

I Sports Web has reported that Chicago has already expressed interest in the big man. With Noah and Gasol likely done in the windy city, Whiteside would be a perfect addition and a player they can rebuild their front court around.

There’s also been rumors of the Bulls front office making a play for Dwight Howard, but his play over the last couple of years makes it look like the veteran has lost some interest in the game, making him a risky choice if it comes down to signing one of these two players.

The last few NBA seasons haven’t gone as planned in Chicago with many experts predicting a championship, but a good showing this summer and the right moves from the front office and this franchise can get back on track and adding a star center could make this one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference next season.
