NBA Rumors: Carl Landry to LA Lakers?

The 76ers have been rumored in more trade talk than any other franchise and with a loaded front court, it was only a matter of time before something happened. This past week veteran Carl Landry was the first casualty as the 76ers released the veteran, making him a free agent available to sign with any team in the coming weeks.

With his release, several rumors have hit social media on potential destinations and the latest has the LA Lakers as a squad that could use his help. With Los Angeles looking to move Nick Young, adding Landry would allow the front office to make that move without any hesitation, but keep the strength of the bench intact.

The former second round pick has bounced around the league, playing for six different organizations, including Sacramento twice and while its a hard to imagine a player with his ability not able to find a permanent home, he still has the game to help any squad coming off the bench.

Last season he was the only player last season to play 500+ minutes and average 22 points, nine rebounds per 36 minutes, and shoot over 50 percent from the floor. These numbers suggest he could help a number of teams, including the LA Lakers during the 2016-17 NBA season.

Los Angeles isn’t the only team reportedly with interest as SB Nation has reported Indiana could also use the veteran forward. The Pacers are a better basketball team at this stage and have more experience, which could become a contributing factor in his final decision, but one thing is clear, Landry won’t have any trouble finding another new home.
