article imageNBA regulars are over, playoff is imminent

By James Walker     Apr 17, 2014 in Sports
The NBA playoffs are beginning on Sunday after the regulars ended last Tuesday with the LA Clippers winning against the Denver Nuggets with a score of 117-105.
Although the seed positions still need to be finalized, the teams in the championship this season have been confirmed. The Eastern Conference will be headed up by the Indiana Pacers (55-26 record), Miami Heat (54-27 record) and Toronto Raptors (48-33 record), subject to finalized seeds, and will be joined by the Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, Charlotte Bobcats and Atlanta Hawks. The Western Conference, meanwhile, currently has the San Antonio Spurs (62-19 record), Oklahoma City Thunder (58-23 record) and Los Angeles Clippers (57-24 record) at the top followed by the Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies.
In the Eastern Conference there is still a hot contest for the third seed position depending on who beats who in the following games. If Toronto beats the New York Knicks or if the Chicago Bulls lose to the Charlotte Bobcats then the Toronto Raptors will get the place but if the Bulls beat the Raptors then they will be allocated the spot. The fifth seed will be filled by the Brooklyn Nets if they can beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday or if the Washington Wizards lose to the Boston Celtics. However, if the WIzards end up beating Boston (or if the Cavaliers beat the Nets) then Washington would get the spot.
In the Western Conference there is still a fight to secure the seventh seed as the Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies play each other to avoid both the San Antonio Spurs in the first position and the eighth seed.
The playoffs begin on April 19th and are followed by the conference semifinals on May 5th and the conference finals on May 20th. The NBA finals are fixed to June 5th. Now it is really time to start placing bets on who you think the winning team will be as the contest really heats up in the playoffs. Remember to use websites such as TopBettingReviews.com first however to ensure that your bookie is safe and reputable as bets are only getting more and more valuable as the 2014 NBA season draws to a spectacular close in both the Eastern and Western conferences.
Bookies are currently looking most favourably on Miami Heat to win the NBA this season, with sites on TopBettingReviews.com offering odds of 19-10. The San Antonio Spurs get 3-odds of 3-1 whereas Oklahoma City Thunder have 19-5. Things aren't so shiny for the Charlotte Bobcats, however: they have odds of 200-1 whereas the Atlanta Hawks get just 950-1.
[UPDATE]: In the Eastern Conference the third seed went to the Toronto Raptors despite them being beaten by the New York Kinicks as the Chicago Bulls lost to the Charlotte Bobcats. The fifth seed went to the Washington Wizards as they beat Boston and the Cavaliers beat the Nets. In the Western Conference the seventh seed went to the Memphis Grizzlies as they successfully beat the Dallas Mavericks 106-105.
