Trade rumors and speculation about his desire to play basketball in Los Angeles have been called into question, but now the veteran can leave that all behind if he wishes and several teams from around the league would love to have the big man on their roster.
One team that would make a
perfect fit is San Antonio. The Spurs have several veteran players on the roster and run the type of offense that could enhance Gasol's game. Head coach Gregg Popovich knows how to deal with aging players and the Spurs could use some more size in the paint next season.
Another reason for the two sides
coming together is money. San Antonio is one of the few NBA teams willing to take on a big contract next season, especially with a player over 30 years of age and with Duncan, Parker, and Ginnobili plus some good young talent, Gasol's best chance to win another title could come be in Texas next season.
