article imageNBA Fantasy Basketball: Top week 2 waiver wire add-ons

By Larry Seely     Nov 1, 2015 in Sports
Unlike football, fantasy basketball requires a bit more work as teams play a varied amount of games each week. Knowing what NBA teams are playing the most games and finding players on the waiver wire with the most upside each week can help owners.
This week several teams have four games on the schedule, including the Miami Heat and last year's surprise squad Atlanta. These two squads have players that can provide help in several scoring categories, which can lead to a win in week 2 for fantasy basketball owners.
The top pick this week is also a sleeper pick for the rest of the year is Dennis Schroder of the Hawks. Atlanta's point guard is averaging 25 minutes of action per game in the early going and averaging 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists — not bad for a backup. Those numbers over four games are better than an average starter that has just two games on tap this week, so check your roster and make the move if it works to your advantage.
Miami has two solid options in small forwards Luol Deng and Gerald Green. Both players are shooting the ball extremely well in the early part of the season and are capable of good rebounding numbers and a few assists. Once again with four games on the schedule, the Heat duo are good options for any owners looking for a bit of help.
Meyers Leonard of Portland is one of the best center options in week 2. The big man is averaging seven points and four rebounds per game for the Trail Blazers and despite a slow start in shooting from the floor, he is playing nearly 30 minutes per night. With four games this week, a couple big nights should be expected.
Just like football, match ups can play a big role in the NBA. Finding games that have these advantages can lead to a successful year and for those owners willing to spend the time, it could lead to a championship in 2016.
