Money issues to bring Mayweather, Pacquiao back to the ring

In the case of Pacquiao, he needs more funds to finance his social projects like building hospitals, churches, schools and a variety of charitable projects for the poor and the needy.

For Mayweather, money is so important to support his insatiable appetite for luxurious things like high-end jewelries, fancy houses, luxury cars and even private airplanes.

Roach believes that while both of them are still in demand, they will soon return to the ring because of their continuing need for funds.

In an interview with Jenna J of On the Ropes boxing, Roach shares contrasting views about Mayweather’s lifestyle of the rich and famous as opposed to Pacquiao’s simple and charitable lifestyle.

“To be honest, I think they both come back because of the money issues. Manny is too generous and he gives his money away and Mayweather seems to spend a lot of money — he just bought a house in LA. I think the money issue could help both of them, so Manny can build more hospitals, schools and churches,” Roach said.

“Manny is a really good guy and when you can bet a million dollars on basketball games, to me that’s maybe a little bit reckless but Mayweather seems to be able to do that. If you can bet a million dollars, you better be able to lose it because you don’t always win,” he added.

Roach knows that the rematch would still sell because of unfinished issues that need to be settled in order to put closure in the long-running Mayweather-Pacquiao saga.

“There’s a lot of money on the table still, and I still think the fight does really well. If we get Mayweather after our next fight, it’s like a dream come true,” he said.
