MLB Trade Rumors: Ryan Braun to San Francisco Giants?

With the LA Dodgers right behind the Giants in the standings, holes in their lineup have become apparent. This squad needs help at the plate and unless they can make a trade before the waiver-wire deadline of August 31, the great start they had in 2016 could be wasted.

To show how much this team has struggled scoring runs, they are in the middle of the pack in the National League and tied with rival San Diego in runs scored. The return of outfielder Hunter Pence was expected to help, but the veteran has yet to help since his return last week and this squad needs more runs now.

There have been rumors in Milwaukee that the Brewers are looking to unload Ryan Braun. The 32-year-old is having a terrific season, hitting .321 with 18 home runs and 56 RBI’s; but his big money contract and the team’s losing season has many wondering if they will try and clear the veteran through waivers, in hopes of losing his salary and possibly making a trade for some young prospects.

While no official news has linked these two teams, it would make sense for the Giants to have interest, especially with their offensive struggles. A deal could help propel San Francisco over the last couple of months of the 2016 MLB season and supply a burst of energy to the team and its fans as Los Angles keeps creeping closer to first place.

The front office for the Giants aren’t known for making big moves, but at this stage of the season they have nothing to lose and everything to gain and if this deal could bring another World Series title, it would be well worth the gamble.
