article imageMLB Trade Rumors: Kyle Kendrick to Toronto Blue Jays?

By Larry Seely     May 10, 2014 in Sports
Toronto - The Toronto Blue Jays have allowed the most runs in the AL East, not exactly what's needed to win the division or make the MLB Playoffs and that has led to trade rumors to strengthen their starting rotation.
Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report has suggested a possible deal with Philadelphia to acquire veteran Kyle Kendrick. The 29-year-old has a career record over .500 and despite a lack of wins this season, has pitched some terrific baseball.
The Blue Jays have two solid starters in Mark Buehrle and R.A. Dickey, but the rest of the staff has struggled with consistency. With a team ERA over 4.00 and few quality starts from the back end of the rotation, acquiring a veteran that can pitch six or seven quality innings on a regular basis could be the answer this franchise needs to overtake New York.
Philadelphia would get a couple decent prospects in return, including 24-year-old Sean Nolin. With the Phillies looking to rebuild with younger talent, this could be a win-win situation for both clubs and a move the Blue Jays could make without breaking the bank, plus make them a contender for at least an MLB wild card spot in the post season.
