article imageMLB Trade Rumors: David Price to LA Dodgers?

By Larry Seely     Jun 15, 2014 in Sports
Los Angeles - The Tampa Bay Rays were hoping to contend for an AL East title this season, but with the worst mark in baseball, it now looks like this team will be busy at the MLB trade deadline as they look to rebuild with younger and cheaper prospects.
One player that has been on the trading block since last season is David Price as the lefty is poised for a big payday, something that won't happen with his current team.
Price has the experience and arm to help any team in baseball, but with his price tag expected to top $150 million, few franchises have the money to pull the trigger to acquire the talented pitcher.
Rumors have now surfaced from Sports Illustrated that the LA Dodgers have interest and with the Boys in Blue 6.5 games back of San Francisco in the NL West, the time is now to make roster changes.
Price is just 4-6 on the year with Tampa Bay, but the 28-year-old is among the best pitchers in the game, especially when given some run support and a move to a contender would only sharpen his game.
With both franchises not in the position they expected when the season began, a trade would benefit both organizations and possibly land the LA Dodgers the player they need to get back in the race for one of the top teams in baseball and maybe make the 2014 MLB season one to remember for the fans.
