article imageMLB Trade Rumors: David Price to LA Dodgers?

By Larry Seely     Jan 21, 2014 in Sports
Los Angeles - The ownership change for the LA Dodgers has had a terrific effect for the fans, team, and baseball. This club is now in the market for any top player in the league and a viable candidate to win a World Series title every season.
Despite a slow start during the 2013 MLB season, Los Angeles rebounded, won the NL West and made a strong showing in the post season, but now the goal is to win titles and with another move or two on the roster, this could become the team to beat in 2014.
One area that still needs more depth is starting pitching and rumors have the front office still looking to make moves. One player that could help is David Price of the Tampa Bay Rays as the hard-throwing lefty has become too expensive for the team to keep.
Price will make roughly 20 percent of the Rays' payroll this season and that usually means a trade is coming. Tampa Bay has dealt players in the past with the same situation, but still staying competitive with a strong young team.
The 28-year-old is coming off another outstanding season and would give the LA Dodgers a formidable staff with Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke, making them the favorite to win the NL West and a tougher team to beat when the 2014 MLB Playoffs roll around in October.
