article imageMiami Dolphins Rumors: Eugene Monroe best option at left tackle?

By Larry Seely     Feb 9, 2014 in Sports
Miami - The end of the 2014 NFL season was a disaster for the Miami Dolphins, not only did the team lose its final two games and missed the playoffs, the team also lost two of its best offensive lineman due to off-field problems.
Richie Incognito has had issues in the past, but it now appears the league has cleared him of any wrong doing in the case against fellow offensive lineman Jonathan Martin, but both players are likely done playing for the team and help is needed.
Looking ahead, Miami needs to protect young quarterback Ryan Tannehill and give the running backs more holes to run through. With enough money under the salary cap to add a top notch tackle, Bleacher Report columnist Andrew Garda has reported that Eugene Monroe would be a great addition to the franchise.
Monroe is ranked as the top free agent left tackle by Nick Mensio of Rotoworld and the type of player that could give the team several years of high quality play. The 26 year-old is still young enough to anchor the line for several seasons, but his experience in the league, especially helping the Baltimore Ravens win a Super Bowl, is the type of players the Miami Dolphins need to add in order to surpass New England in the AFC East.
