While sources from the Mayweather camp have been denying that a deal has been made between Pacquiao and Mayweather on the long-awaited superfight, Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum expects Mayweather to sign the fight contract within this week.
“Arum said he expects the contracts to be signed by Pacquiao and Mayweather by the end of the week,” NY Daily News writes.
Alex Ariza, Pacquiao’s former strength and conditioning coach, contradicted Arum’s statement saying that Arum is the reason the long-delayed fight isn’t happening. Read more.
According to tvnz.co.nz., Mayweather could use his visit to Australia to announce the result of his negotiation with Pacquiao’s handlers on the long-awaited fight.
The important announcement will be made by Mayweather at the Crown Casino in Melbourne next Friday.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao who flew to the US last week to launch his documentary film “Manny” has made a side trip to England to meet Prince Harry at the Buckingham Palace.
Pacquiao will be returning to the US to act as one of the judges in the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant in Florida on Jan. 25.
