Manny Pacquiao may have signed a different fight contract as Floyd Mayweather denied reports that Pacquiao had already signed the contract for their planned fight on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pacquiao spoke to GMA-7 over the weekend saying that he is just waiting for Mayweather to sign the contract.
“Pirma na lang (ni Mayweather),” (Only Mayweather's signature is lacking), said Pacquiao when asked about the status of the ongoing fight talks.
There were reports that Mayweather will be announcing the result of the fight negotiations during the NBA All-Star Game in New York last Sunday but the unbeaten American said that no contract has been signed yet.
In a courtside interview during the NBA All-Star Game tip off at the Madison Square Garden, Mayweather said that neither he nor Pacquiao had signed the contract.
"I haven't signed yet and he hasn't signed yet. It's just been speculation and rumours, but hopefully we can make the fight happen," Mayweather said.
Mayweather did not say when the fight contract will be signed .
Meanwhile, Pacquiao is reported to have started light training for his next fight in his own Gym in General Santos City, Philippines.
While waiting for Mayweather's announcement, Pacquaio took time out to grace the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of his own place of worship.
The church will rise on a five-hectare prime land that he owns and he expects to have the facility completed in the next 18 months.
