Manny Pacquiao gears up for serious post-surgery rehab

While recuperating from recent surgery, Pacquiao is keeping himself busy with his bible-sharing activities as part of his Christian-Muslim unity crusade.

In Sarangani where he is the lone congressional representative, Pacquiao launched his “Bring me” program aimed at uniting Christians and Muslims in his consistency.

“The project is kind of a sports-religious affair with attendees, both Christians and Muslims, engaged themselves in several sporting competitions like basketball, volleyball, chess, billiards, darts and even scrabble, tug-of-war, palo sebo and several more everyday,” Pacquiao’s close associate David Sisson told veteran Philboxing’s sports writer Eddie Alinea.

He has also resumed his coaching job as head coach of Kia Carnival of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA)

Pacquiao’s Kia Carnival team won its last game in the elimination against Meralco Bolts 85-83 last week to stay in contention in the playoff but eventually lost the chance in favor of Barangay Genebra which bagged the last spot in the elimination. Read more

Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum confirmed Pacquiao’s return to the US for his shoulder rehab during the post-fight interview of the Bradley-Vargas fight last week.

“Manny is coming over to see the doctor and then he will start his serious rehab,” Arum said. “He’ll stay here for probably about two weeks and then he will go back to the Philippines. One of the rehab guys will go with him to make sure he is doing his rehab program the right way.”

Pacquiao has also confirmed that he isn’t fighting this year to give way to his shoulder injury rehab but he said he will return to the ring early next year.
