Famous F1 Driver Michael Schumacher had an unexpected skiing accident that left him in terrible condition. His injuries were so bad doctors had left him in a coma to help reduce the swelling on his brain.
Doctors finally brought him out of the coma to let him continue his recovery. Leaving patients in a coma is an advanced technique used to both cut down on physical swelling and on a bit of the mental suffering as well. By watching his recovery we can find out new things about the setup of the human mind.
Schumacher’s family made it clear that he is out of the hospital and is recovering. "it was clear from the start that this will be a long and hard fight for Michael," relatives replied in a BBC report. This recovery process started at "Grenoble's University Hospital Centre" located in the French Alps. It was there he convalesced in his coma until he was brought out of it and transferred to Switzerland.
His current care includes examinations from one of the best hospitals of Europe, located in Lausanne. The care there is said to be some of the best in all of Europe. This is some promising information for his overall treatment.
Currently Schumacher is being kept close to his family. There are no clear sources on his final condition but it likely that he suffered some brain damage. You will likely be seeing an article a few months down the line which asks the question of whether he will be able to rejoin a racing team in any way.
