Philstar’s Abac Cordero said Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee and children are on their way to the US to be with the Filipino boxing superstar.
“Once they get to LA, the Pacquiaos will proceed to their new home in Beverly Hills. Jinkee is happy with the new purchase and can’t wait to step into their $12 million mansion, that used to belong to Jennifer Lopez.” Codero writes.
Jinkee spoke to Philstar in a recent interview saying she is happy that the Mayweather fight is happening on May 2 after a long wait.
“I’m very happy for him. I know he wants this fight. He waited for years for this fight,” she said. Asked for a prediction, Jinkee declined. “Huwag na lang (I’d rather not). But I’m confident because I know that he will do his best,” she said.
Meanwhile at the Pacquiao camp, Michael Koncz, Pacquiao’s longtime adviser said he was surprised to know that Mayweather rejected Pacquiao’s proposal for a reciprocal penalty of $5 million if anyone of them is found positive for illegal drugs before and immediately after the day of the fight on May 2.
“They have made derogatory statements for years about Manny (supposedly using PEDs) and now we challenged them by asking for the $5 million fine, and they refused to do it. It’s disheartening,” Koncz said.
For his part, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe blamed Koncz for the rejection of the proposed drug testing penalty, saying that Pacquiao’s adviser should have included the terms of the penalty in their negotiation for the main contract.
