article imageJessie Magdaleno exudes confidence on winning over Nonito Donaire

Mandatory super bantamweight challenger Jessie Magdaleno is confident he will defeat reigning WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire when they clash on Nov. 5 at the Thomas& Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It will be Magdaleno's first attempt to win a major title since wining the WBO-NABO Youth super bantamweight title against Jonathan Arrellano in 2012 at the Mirage Hotel & Casino in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
Magdaleno is unbeaten since he turned pro in 2010 and is coming off a seventh round knockout win over Rey Perez of the Philippines last February at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Arizona.
The 24-year-old Mexican-American from Las Vegas, Nevada believes Donaire is already past his prime and with his youth and a perfect career record, he will win to become the new WBO super bantamweight champion.
"I think Nonito is no longer in his prime. He's a little old at nearly 34-years-old. He's been in a lot of wars," Magdaleno said to ESPN Deportes
"Nonito is a fighter who still has the punching power, but he will face a young fighter who will be ready - with quick reflexes, speed, punching power. I don't think it's going to be his night, it's going to be mine - because I feel for this fight I'm coming in there at my best, it's the perfect time," he added.
Donaire, who is defending his title for the second time, chose not to talk much about the trash-talking Magdaleno, saying only that he's a great challenger who's been calling him out for quite sometime.
“Jessie is a great challenger, a mandatory title defense and I know he’s hungry because he has been calling me out on social media,” said Donaire.
“I am working great with my new trainer Ismael Salas. We are learning about each other and he’s instructing me on a more precise, compact way of fighting while still being very explosive as everyone is going to see on Nov. 5,” said Donaire.
Donaire and Magdaleno head the undercard of the Pacquiao-Vargas fight. They will be joined by two more tittle fights featuring Oscar Valdez vs. Hiroshige Osawa and Zou Shiming vs. Prasitak Papoem .
