article imageIt wasn't me! Zab Judah denies he KO'ed Floyd Mayweather

By Marcus Hondro     Mar 25, 2015 in Sports
There were reports of Floyd Mayweather being knocked down by sparring partner Zab Judah but Judah denied that any such thing happened. Other reports have it that Mayweather is punishing Judah, and other sparring partners who step into the ring with him.
Judah denies Mayweather knock down
Judah, who Mayweather beat in a 12-round unanimous decision in 2006, said he did not knock down the champ but allsports.com wrote he did.
That allsports story, picked up by the Philippine Star, quoted an unnamed source that said "Zab hit Mayweather with a good shot, a left hook to the body, and he went down." The 'source' claimed Mayweather "was down for more than a 10 count so technically he was knocked out" but that he then bounced up and "beat Zab to a bloody pulp."
So the word according to Zab? Well, the veteran Judah didn't have much to say, and he didn't say it to a reporter in any case. What he did was to simply tweet a response to the source who claims he KO'ed Mayweather while sparring: "That's Not True it never happen stop it."
Mayweather and Pacquiao: Fight Hype
Mayweather is training at his gym in Las Vegas for the May 2 fight at the MGM Grand in that city, while Pacquiao is training at the Wildcard Gym in L.A., the gym of his trainer, Freddie Roach.
Naturally the two camps have produced some fight hype, Pacquiao's camp suggesting that Mayweather is too slow and won't keep up with the Pacman, while Mayweather (47-0) has said that unlike Pacquiao (57-5-2) he only knows how to win. That, Mayweather said, will be the difference.
Thus far the betting lines have Mayweather a 2-1 favorite over Pacquiao.
