article imageICC News: Australia on top of latest world rankings

After a successful summer, including wins over England and South Africa, Australia is back on top of the latest ICC test rankings for the first time in nearly five years.
After winning all five matches against England and winning two of three matches in South Africa, who was previously number one in the world, Australia has become number one in both test and one day international rankings.
Team captain Michael Clarke issued a statement after hearing the news,“We are incredibly proud to be the number-one ranked team in the world in both Test and ODI cricket, which are two of the team's most important goals,”
Darren Lehmann took over the coaching duties just a few days before the start of the Ashes Series against England. He and Clarke made a conservative effort to regain the top spot with added conditioning and team chemistry, both of which were evident this summer as the team played inspired cricket and stayed relatively healthy through both series.
