article imageHouston Texans Rumors: Top targets this off-season

By Larry Seely     Jan 24, 2014 in Sports
Houston - Just one year after making the NFL Playoffs for the first time in franchise history, the Houston Texans fell hard in 2013 and will need some major upgrades across their roster to reach the success they had in 2012.
Quarterback seems to be the biggest issue for a team that had one of the top offenses in the league until this season. Matt Schaub and Case Keenum both played poorly, despite having several play makers to work with and that has led to reports of the front office using their top pick to nab a new signal caller.
Walterfootball has the Texans taking Teddy Bridgewater with the top overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and while he may become the future face of the franchise, just ask the NY Jets how hard it was to play with a rookie leading the way.
The interior of the offensive line needs some help and Bleacher Report has suggested the team looks at adding troubled guard Richie Incognito. Despite his troubles in the NFL, the veteran is a solid blocker and a player that would upgrade the Texans line and give the rookie signal caller a shot at playing well in year one.
Defensively the team needs a pass rusher on the outside and some help at linebacker. BYU youngster Kyle Van Noy could help with both needs as a big fast defensive end that could also play outside linebacker, giving the team some versatility and saving a draft pick for other needs in the later rounds.
