article imageHouston Texans Mock Draft: Updated projections for each round

By Larry Seely     Feb 3, 2014 in Sports
Houston - After the most disappointing season in Houston Texans history, the front office will have its hands full this off-season trying to add the talent necessary to get this franchise back as one of the better teams in the AFC.
The good news for the Texans and its fans, the team does have plenty of good talent on the roster, but it looks like Houston will enter the 2014 NFL season with a rookie quarterback under center as most experts have predicted the team will take a young signal caller with the number one overall pick in this years draft.
Walterfootball and Ryan Cook of Bleacher Report have the front office taking Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in the first round. Despite recent criticism of his size, Bridgewater has all the tools needed to succeed in the league and can hopefully lead this team back into the playoffs.
Round two gets a bit interesting as Houston has a couple different areas of need. Finding more depth for the offensive line, especially at tackle is one direction they could go. Antonio Richardson of Tennessee is an excellent option and a player that could step in and start from the moment he arrives in camp.
Another option is finding some help at outside linebacker or defensive end. Houston struggled putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks and must find some help this off-season. Jeremiah Attaochu of Georgia Tech could play both positions if needed, saving the team a pick to use in another area of need, but also landing them a young player with plenty of upside as a pass rusher.
