Wilder (34-0-0, 33KOs), who is coming off a knockout win against Eric Molina at Bartow Arena, Birmingham, Alabama last June 13, knocked out Duhaupas in the 11th round to retain his WBC heavyweight title.
Overall, the fight was a one-sided affair but Duhaupas put up a good fight having absorbed heavy punishment from Wilder in the early rounds.
Duhaupas took unnecessary punishment from Wilder in the late rounds prompting referee Jack Reiss to stop the fight in the 11th round.
The 34-year-old Frenchman never went down in the grueling fight and remained standing when the referee halted the fight to protect him from possible injury.
It was evident, however that Wilder was not the same fighter he was two years ago when he knocked out his opponents in the first two to three rounds.
While Wilder is used to win fights under four rounds, he went down the stretch with Bermane Stiverne at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada last January to win the WBC heavyweight title.
With the win, Wilder kept his WBC heavyweight title for the third time and remains unbeaten in 35 pro fights with 34 coming via knockout win.
Wilder is targeting a future lucrative fight against Wladimir Klitschko or Tyson Fury, whoever wins in their upcoming fight which was postponed to a later date due to Klitschko’s injury during his training.
