article imageDallas Cowboys offering playoff tickets already

By Clay Walker     Aug 2, 2014 in Sports
Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are including NFL playoff tickets with their outgoing packets to season ticket holders.
Too soon? Well it's never too soon for "America's Team" to hatch plans for the NFL postseason, even prior to the start of the preseason. The packets sent out to season ticket holders for the regular season also contain playoff tickets, including tickets to the NFC championship game. Fans will not have to pay for tickets until the games are clinched, however, how soon is too soon?
Dallas has not made it to the playoffs since 2009, where they won one postseason game, their first postseason victory since 1996.
The past few seasons have not been kind to Cowboys fans, as Dallas has limped towards the end of the regular season with glimmers of playoff hopes. The past three years the boys have had control of their own playoff destiny, with a win in the final regular season game taking them into the playoffs. However losses in 2011 to New York, 2012 to Washington, and 2013 to Philadelphia, all in week 17, have left them short of their playoff goals.
Maybe its just a marketing ploy to insure that if the cowboys do make it into the postseason the 80,000 seats of AT&T Stadium will be filled. Maybe its a little good faith to get Dallas Cowboy fans excited, or maybe it's just icing on the cake for Dallas Cowboy haters. I know one thing for sure, I won't be spending any money on hypothetical tickets, but I am excited to see what this season brings.
