College Football Schedule: Week eight Top-25 match ups

The showcase game of week eight has the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide playing host to one of the more surprising teams of the 2016 season, Texas A&M. Both squads come into Saturday’s big game undefeated with the winner taking control of the SEC West and a likely spot in the conference championship game later this season.

This is a statement game for the Aggies as a close loss could keep them in contention for an NCAA Playoff berth, but the loser will fight an uphill battle and will need some help to get back into contention.

The Big Ten will look to keep three schools unbeaten this weekend and hold onto their conference chances leading up to the playoffs in January. Second ranked Ohio State is coming off a thrilling overtime victory over Wisconsin, but the Buckeyes need to stay focused against a good Penn State program.

Michigan is now third in the nation after some big wins, but with every week important, the Wolverines can’t have a letdown at home on Saturday against Illinois.

Nebraska is the biggest surprise in the conference and now eighth in the latest polls. However, like the other top programs in the country, they must take care of business this weekend against Purdue to keep their championship hopes alive.

Boise State and Western Michigan are the two Cinderella stories of the NCAA Football season. Both programs are undefeated and looking to crack the top-10. Bot squads have big games this weekend, Boise State against BYU and Western Michigan against Eastern Michigan and with winning the only way to climb the rankings and perhaps earn a berth in a big bowl game at seasons end.
