College Football Schedule: Week five preview of top-25 match ups

The PAC 12 has its most important game of 2016 when seventh ranked Stanford hits the road to face number ten Washington, a game that will keep the playoff hopes alive for the victor and spoil a great start to the year for the loser.

All purpose back Christian McCaffrey is the big name talent in this contest and a contender for the Heisman Trophy, but the Cardinal will need to be more consistent in the passing game to win away from home this week. The Huskies have a strong defense and a solid running game of their own, but the difference could be quarterback Jake Browning, who has helped resurrect the Washington program.

The Big Ten takes center stage early Saturday afternoon when Wisconsin faces Michigan in Ann Arbor. The Badgers have already pulled upsets on LSU and Michigan State and are now ranked eighth in the latest AP top-25 poll, but they will have their hands full against a Wolverines side that has scored over 40 points in each game this season and with have advantage of playing with nearly 100,000 fans cheering on the boys in maize and blue.

Saturday night has the showcase game of week 5 as the ACC takes center stage in college football with Clemson hosting Louisville at Death Valley.

The Cardinals are one of the best stories in the game this season and with Heisman front-runner Lamar Jackson leading a potent offense, the Tigers will have their hands full. DeShaun Watson has the experience and is likely a first round pick in next years NFL Draft, but the inconsistency this squad has shown when having the ball could prove the difference, despite playing at home this weekend.
