article imageBuffalo Bills Rumors: Zach Strief the answer at right tackle?

By Larry Seely     Feb 9, 2014 in Sports
Buffalo - The Buffalo Bills had a revolving door at quarterback in 2013, but when rookie E.J. Manuel was on the field, the offense played much more consistent football, but keeping the young signal caller healthy is a priority this off-season.
Cordy Glenn played solid football at left tackle for the team last season, but the right side of the line, particularly Erik Pears at right tackle played below average and finding some help is key to this franchise finally breaking their drought and making the NFL Playoffs.
Several rumors have surfaced since the season ended on players that could help. The latest from Bleacher Report has suggested the front office signs former New Orleans Saints lineman Zach Strief.
The 30 year-old veteran is ranked as the top available free agent at his position heading into the 2014 season and a player that would immediately upgrade the talent level on the Bills offensive line and give them the experience they need to become a more successful franchise.
Another option for Buffalo is selecting a tackle in the 2014 NFL Draft, but adding another young player in a position that needs help is not always the best answer, especially for a team trying to build confidence. Look for the front office to add some help on the line and signing a player like Strief would help the Bills make a bigger impact in the AFC East and a possible dark horse to make the playoffs next season.
