article imageBuffalo Bills Rumors: Eric Decker the answer at wide receiver?

By Larry Seely     Jan 8, 2014 in Sports
Buffalo - 2013 didn't go as planned for the Buffalo Bills, but the team is in good position to make some major upgrades this off-season and with some good moves by the front office, 2014 could be the year this franchise finally makes it back to the playoffs.
The front office will have roughly $30 million to spend and with a good group of free agents, finding some help on offense for their young quarterback E.J. Manuel is a priority.
Bleacher Report writer Joshua Cornwall has suggested a couple big moves the team could make and one is releasing Stevie Johnson, who missed several games with injuries and the death of his mother. Johnson was terrible in 2013 and owed more than $7 million next season, but releasing him now and using that money to add a more dynamic play maker could help tremendously next season.
Cornwall has also suggested that the front office makes a move to sign Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker. Not only is the former University of Minnesota star more productive, but his bugger size makes him a better target in the red zone and a player that hustles at all times.
Manuel will also need some help in protection and adding a veteran or rookie through the 2014 NFL Draft could help. The Buffalo Bills used four different starting quarterbacks in 2013 and keeping their young signal caller healthy will be a big step in this team finally having a winning season and contending for the AFC East title.
