article imageBaltimore Ravens Rumors: Best free agent wide receiver targets?

By Larry Seely     Feb 10, 2014 in Sports
Baltimore - With all the changes to the roster, Baltimore still played some good football in 2013, but they need to add some veteran talent this off-season if they want to reach the level of success of 2012.
Surprisingly, the defense wasn't the reason for the Ravens finishing 8-8 in the 2013 NFL season, the offense was outscored by all but five teams in the AFC and winning just two games on the road cost this team a shot at making the playoffs.
The top priority this off-season for the front office is finding some play makers to help quarterback Joe Flacco. The Baltimore Ravens lacked that big target in the red zone and finding a big receiver to couple with Torrey Smith would definitely help.
Andrew Garda of Bleacher Report has suggested the team go after former Green bay packers wide receiver James Jones. The former third round draft pick has 37 career touchdowns, but his ability to make big plays is more important to Baltimore.
Hakeem Nicks is another player with enough NFL experience and play making ability to get the job done for the Ravens. Nicks has been hit and miss since entering the league, but his ability to stretch opposing defenses and his physical presence over smaller corners, make this free agent a player to watch this off-season and one the Baltimore Ravens would love to have on their roster heading into 2014.
