article imageArum reserves Pacquiao's favorite venue Mandalay Bay for Oct. 15

Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum has made reservation for a pay-per-view fight at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on Oct. 15 but the veteran promoter has yet to disclose who among his fighters will show up at the reserved venue
There are unconfirmed reports that Arum has reserved the date and venue for a pay-per-view fight between Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner. Arum admitted that there are indeed ongoing talks about a possible Pacquiao-Broner fight but his hands are tied because he doesn't know yet if Pacquiao will continue fighting.
Pacquiao announced his retirement right after his third fight against Timothy Bradley last April 9 which he won via a unanimous decision. The 37-year-old Filipino boxing star said he will pursue his career in politics. On May 9, he was elected to the Philippine senate and started performing his job today June 30 as mandated by the Philippine constitution.
When Pacquiao announced his retirement from the sport last April, he left a window open for a comeback fight.
Arum and Pacquiao's longtime trainer Freddie Roach believe Pacquiao will soon resume fighting. Also, both of them do not discount the possibility of Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch happening soon.
“I’m not sure Manny is going to return, but I believe he wants to return,” Arum said. “The question is, can he return and yet fulfill his duties as a senator in the Philippines? I don’t think even he knows that answer yet, because he’s just taken office. But I know for a fact, based on our conversations, that if he can, he is prepared to come back, and Broner is one guy we’re considering.” Arum told Yahoo Sports.
For his part Roach said Pacquiao is good for one or two more fights while Arum is holding on to his contract with Pacquiao which is good until 2017.
The proposed Pacquiao-Broner fight has generated good reviews from the public in general and boxing fans in particular because both of them are not only entertaining to watch but they are also noted for their speed and power.. For the promoters, Pacquiao and Broner are the easiest guys to sell.
According to Arum, the Mandalay Bay Events Center is Pacquiao's favorite venue and having reserved the place for Oct. 15 is an indication that the Pacquiao-Broner fight is nearly a done deal but needs Pacquiao to seal it with his decision to continue fighting.
