3 keys to Buffalo Bills success in NFL opener against Colts

The biggest question and one of the keys to the game is how new starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor handles the offense and if the former Baltimore Ravens backup can limit mistakes, especially against one of the favorites in the AFC.

McCoy is expected to play despite limited action in the preseason with a hamstring injury. Rookie Karlos Williams is the backup and if their new star on offense isn’t at full strength, they may need help from the youngster if they want to pull the upset and start the year 1-0.

Defensively Buffalo finished last season ranked fourth overall and the team will rely heavily on this unit in 2015. The Bills haven’t made the playoffs in 15 years and to break that drought, limiting opposing offenses to 20 points or less each game is imperative.

Indianapolis enters the opener with a new running back in veteran Frank Gore and have added depth at wide receiver with the addition of Andre Johnson. Both of these veterans will add a new dimension to the Colts offense, but how quickly they adapt to their new surroundings, will go along way in how this team performs this season.

The biggest key for Buffalo is how the home crowd reacts if this team gets down early. New head coach Rex Ryan has asked the public for noise when Indy’ has the ball. If the crowd can make a difference, the new faces of the Buffalo Bills should feed off the energy and that momentum could carry them to a victory.

Much is expected of both teams in the 2015 NFL season, but with several questions surrounding the Bills offense, a quick start could build the momentum they need to create a buzz with the fans and finally get this franchise back in the playoffs where they belong.
