2017 NFL Mock Draft: Leonard Fournette best option for NY Jets?

Not only has the team won just one football game, the offense has clearly been the reason for the miserable start. The team has averaged less than ten points per game over the last four contests. Turnovers have become a big issue, but the addition of Matt Forte over the off season hasn’t helped the running game.

Rumors have already started on potential moves the front office can make to help in 2017. It now appears the team will be drafting early in the first round next April, but what direction do they choose?

Walter Football has released their latest mock and have New York taking LSU running back Leonard Fournette. With Forte clearly in the twilight of his career, taking perhaps the best prospect at the position in the last decade does make sense and it would be a long-term solution at the position.

Despite using two early picks in 2016 to land defensive players, some NFL experts are projection the Jets to use even more early picks this next year on defensive help.

Draft Site has predicted the teams need for help in the secondary with become a priority and have management taking corner Tre’Davious White of LSU in the first round and safety Marcus Maye of Florida in round two.

it’s now obvious this team needs help on both sides of the ball and must determine who will guide the offense in 2017. Fitzpatrick has the experience, but the team did select Christian Hackenberg of Penn State in the second round. With the season lost, it might be time to see what the youngster can offer, which could help the front office when deciding on young talent next April.
