2016 NFL Mock Draft: Cleveland Browns updated 3 round projections

The front office has used several high picks to find the right signal caller and failed to produce someone that can lead this team, both on and off the field. The latest was Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel, but with his off-field incidents, it appears management could be forced into taking another QB in 2016.

Cleveland has two other areas of need, wide receiver depth and defensive line help, but when they choose to add these players is the question.

The Browns will let their feelings known in the first round, where they have a top-2 selection. Bleacher Report has projected Cal signal caller Jarred Goff as the teams top selection, but given the team’s lack of direction over the last decade, Joey Bosa is a more logical choice with his proven track record at Ohio State.

Bosa can dominate from his defensive tackle position and help get the ball back to the offense. His latest NFL Draft player ranking suggests he’s a safer pick in the opening round and the type of player that will help this team win football games.

With all that being said, the front office is likely to add a quarterback in the first three rounds. Walter Football has them waiting until the third round and taking Jacoby Brissett of North Carolina State. Carson Wentz is another possibility, but they would need to likely use a second round choice and the 6’5″ product of North Dakota State.

Wide receiver is another area of need and there are plenty of talented youngsters in this year’s class of players. If they want someone with speed, Corey Coleman of Baylor is a logical option, but in today’s football, big receivers are becoming the norm and that would have Tyler Boyd of Pitt as the selection.

There is little doubt this franchise has under-performed, both on the playing field and in the front office. 2016 is a very important off season for this franchise and with the right moves, fans could see a winning season withing the next couple of years.
