2016 NFL Mock Draft: Browns leaning towards Wentz in first round?

Cleveland hasn’t made the playoffs since their return as a franchise and most of that blame has fallen on the shoulders of bad quarterback play. With Johnny Manziel becoming a disaster off the field, it’s no secret the front office is looking for a new leader to take this team to new heights.

The latest mock from Walter Football has management now looking at Carson Wentz of North Dakota with their first round selection. The 6’5″ youngster has all the tools to succeed at the next level and with a solid showing at the Combine later this month, he could be the player that finally leads this franchise to the playoffs and possibly more before his career is finished.

Speaking of quarterbacks, many believed Jared Goff would be the first signal caller off the board and that could still be the case in April, but for now, most NFL experts have the University of California product now slipping to the middle of round one.

There are two teams linked with the QB and while most figured San Francisco would look for help at the position, rumors now have the Dallas Cowboys possibly taking a replacement for Tony Romo. Goff has the swagger needed in “Big D” and sitting behind Romo and learning the ropes could be a great move as it would take some pressure off the young man, but also give him time to learn the game and not just be thrown to the wolves.

Paxton Lynch has dropped after his performance for Memphis in their Bowl Game, but this talented signal caller is still a first round talent and been linked with Philadelphia and the LA Rams, both of which are expected to need new quarterbacks in the near future.
