2016 NBA Mock Draft: Updated first round projections

The good news for the team and its fans is it looks like the front office could have a top-3 pick to help with the rebuilding of this once-proud franchise. General manager Mitch Kupchak will also have plenty of room under the salary cap to add some veteran talent, but youth will be key to this squad getting back as one of the top teams in the Western Conference.

With the latest mocks having Philly now struggling with whom to take at number one, the best scenario for the “purple and gold,” Ben Simmons of LSU falls into their lap. Not only would the young forward make this team better, he would also attract free agents back to Southern California, something that is needed for this franchise to win another championship in the next five years.

Boston is another franchise looking to make some big moves over the summer and with several picks in the NBA Draft and room to make a big name free agent signing, this young squad could become one of the top five teams in basketball next season.

The latest mocks have Kentucky guard Jamal Murray as their top choice. The youngster can play both point and shooting guard, but his winning mentality and ability to handle pressure situations could make him a great fit with the Celtics.

General manager Danny Ainge must add some size to the front court and will have several options with their other picks. Gonzaga power forward Domantas Sabonis and Michigan State product Deyonta Davis would both be great additions to the front court and players that could help bring a championship back to “Bean Town.”
