2015 NBA Mock Draft: Updated first round projections

Duke not only won the National Championship, but they could have two players taken in the top five this summer. The latest mock from Chris Roling of Bleacher Report has freshman sensation Jahlil Okafor as the top overall prospect and taking his game to Minnesota.

The seven-footer was terrific all season, but he really showed his value in the big games. He’s the best offensive center to enter the league in years, but he also dominates on the defensive side of the court and could be the type of player that helps an NBA squad win championships.

Justise Winslow was another key reason Duke won a title this year. The youngster has a strong upper body and despite his young age, the size to take his game to the next level. The latest mock from Draft Express has Winslow going in the fifth spot to Orlando, a move that will add depth to the Magic’ and give the team some much-needed depth in the front court.

While Kentucky failed to have that perfect year, the Wildcats will have all five starters in this years draft, including Karl-Anthony Towns who is the second ranked prospect available. Towns is a force on the boards and solid on defense, but will need to work on his moves in the paint to reach that next level, but New York will be in good shape if they can land the big man for next season.

The LA Lakers will have an interesting summer as the front office will look to make several roster moves in hopes of landing more talent. GM Mitch Kupchak will begin the process during the draft and if the latest news and rumors are correct, guard D’Angelo Russell from Ohio State will become the newest member of the ‘purple and gold’ and the replacement they need when Kobe Bryant decides to retire.
