article image2014 NFL Draft: Hundley returning to UCLA, shakes up first round

By Larry Seely     Jan 5, 2014 in Sports
Los Angeles - NFL teams looking for a franchise quarterback in the 2014 Draft will need to begin looking for someone other than Bret Hundley of UCLA as the 20 year-old is expected to return to school for his junior season.
Hundley was projected as a first round talent and a player teams like Minnesota or Cleveland could use to solidify the position as they look to become playoffs contenders, but according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, an announcement will be made sometime this week of his return o the Bruins football program for the 2014 season.
While the news is surprising, it's probably best as the added year of experience at the college level could make the young man into one of the top three players for the 2015 NFL Draft.
Hundley isn't the only college quarterback coming back next season as Oregon's Marcus Mariota and Bryce Petty of Baylor have already made the decision to return to school for another year. Mariota and Perry are both considered good prospects, but neither are first round talents and another year could move them into a first or second round round in 2015.
