After months of speculating, the Toronto Transit Commission has officially approved the fare hike across the entire board.

The Toronto Transit Commission will vote today on the possible fare hike that will see everything be raised but also the chance that students will be given discounts.

TTC Adam Giambrone supports post-secondary students being allowed to use the student Metropass. That would be a small saving for the students. Currently the student pass is $91.25 compared to the adult pass($109).

Toronto transit riders may experience another fare hike in both per ride and passes. It is expected to cost $3 per fare and $126 for a monthly metropass.

Do you enjoy paying the $109 per month for your Metropass? Well, it is quite possible that TTC riders will have to fork out the extra money in order to offset the loss in revenues that Toronto's primary transit company is facing.

A Toronto Transit Commission streetcar driver for the 511 route was assaulted Sunday evening at about 8:45 p.m. The assault took place at the foot of the Bathurst route going towards the CNE.
