The famous actor (now possibly more famous for his insane antics) was told he has been "chosen" to spread the news about Scientology all around the globe. Leader David Miscavige has said that he believes Cruise will be worshipped in a similar fashion to Jesus Christ in the future after all the work Tom has been doing and will continue to do to convert others to the religion. A friend of Tom's, also a Scientologist, is quoted as saying: “Tom has been told he is Scientology’s Christ-like figure. Like Christ, he’s been criticised for his views. But future generations will realize he was right.” Scientology has been criticized for its science fiction-like beliefs (it was created by a science fiction novelist, L. Ron Hubbard). Cruise has been known in the past few years to spout his beliefs quite boadly, particularly against psychiatry. He has been a member of the Church of Scientology since the '80s. Okay, to me, that quote doesn't even make sense. Afterall, if Jesus was right, then these people cannot be right! They believe that we trace back to an ancient alien civilization.. I don't recall hearing similar claims of that in any other religious text, and definitely not in The Bible. Tom Cruise seems more like a kook than a man revered world round for compassion and good will.
