Senator knocks out Manny Pacquiao in 2017 SALN

Senator Cynthia Villar, the wife of former House Speaker and presidential candidate Manny Villar has beaten Manny Pacquiao as the Philippine's richest senator as reported in their 2016 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN)
Villar, whose family made a fortune in real estate investments and development, declared a net worth of P3.6 billion which is about P600 million more than the declared net worth of Pacquiao at P3.072 billion.
, a two-term congressman representing the lone district of Sarangani Province, was the richest member of the House of Representatives during his term in office.
The neophyte senator's wealth is mostly made up of real estate investments including his Forbes Park house valued at P388 million, a luxury home in Los Angeles, California valued at around P115 million and a host of other properties in Metro Manila and elsewhere in the country.
Out of the 24 members of the senate, only two are billionaires which include Villar and Pacquiao. The rest are all millionaires with the "poorest" having a declared net worth of P6.5 million.
Villar and Pacquiao are political allies in the administration of Philippine president Rodrigo R. Duterte.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao has yet to start sparring sessions in preparation for his next fight on July 2 against unbeaten Australian boxer Jeff Horn a the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
Pacquiao's longtime trainer Freddie Roach is set to fly to Manila by the last week of May but no specific date has been announced. If he isn't in Pacquiao's training camp in Manila by the end of the month he would only have four weeks to prepare Pacquiao for the Horn fight. Read more:
Pacquiao and Roach have been criticized for seemingly taking the Horn fight lightly but they both denied it with Pacquiao saying the Australian challenger is a good boxer and a worthy opponent.
