Regarding his latest single, "Somebody Else Will," Moore said, "It feels good. It's a different type of record for us. It's a little more contemporary-sounding as far as the production aspect of it, in particular, and it's a fun song. When I first heard it, I really fell in love with it. When I went in the studio to record it, I loved it even more. It's doing well for us, so hopefully it continues to."
Moore continued, "It's a cool change of pace in our live shows. Every time you do something a little different song-wise, you question yourself a little bit, but that was our goal with this album: to do things a little out of the box for me."
He listed the title track "Kinda Don't Care" and "Somebody Else Will" as his two favorite songs from his latest album. "I really enjoy singing 'Somebody Else Will' and I dig it a lot. I also really like the title track since it's a cool tune," he said.
With his previous single "You Look Like I Need A Drink," Moore secured six No. 1 singles at the top of the country charts.
In his personal life, he shared that he and his wife, Kate, are expecting their fourth child. "We are excited. I am hoping for a healthy one. As long as it's healthy, that's all that matters," Moore said, prior to revealing that they do not know the sex of the baby and that his wife does not want to find out. "Kate is due in the second week of June."
Moore remembered the late veteran country stars Merle Haggard and Lynn Anderson. "Merle will be missed for sure. He is second to none, when it comes to the history of country music talent-wise, especially as a singer-songwriter. His music is timeless," Moore said. "Lynn Anderson is another example of what made country music so great. Back in the day, those singers recorded such great songs that were just timeless songs that could be recorded in any generation, and be just as successful. 'Rose Garden' was obviously a huge record. I hate that we keep losing them," he added.
His Kinda Don't Care album is available on iTunes.
