Overstreet co-penned "Hold On," and it deals with a previous romantic relationship; moreover, it touches on the serious subject matter of suicide. The singer-songwriter is able to paint a vivid picture in the minds of his listeners about the ups and downs of this relationship, which his listening audience is bound to find relatable.
"I don't wanna let go, I know I'm not that strong, I just wanna hear you, saying baby, let's go home, let's go home," Overstreet sings in the bridge.
The Verdict
Overall, Chord Overstreet shines on his sophomore single "Hold On." While it deals with a melancholic topic, he sings it beautifully. Fans that enjoyed his previous single, the autobiographical ballad "Homeland," will certainly like "Hold On" due to its versatility. It garners an A rating.
"Hold On" is available for purchase on iTunes.
