The event entitled "Darlene Love and Friends" is presented by Music Men Productions. The Platters former lead singer Sonny Turner and The Duprees will also be appearing at this show.
In the 60's, Love sang lead vocals on a string of the Phil Spector-produced hits such as "He's A Rebel," "(Today I Met) The Boy I'm Going To Marry," and the seasonal classic "(Christmas) Baby Please Come Home," which is a holiday standard year after year.
The acclaimed songstress also sang backing vocals on other Spector-produced hits, which include The Crystals' "Da Doo Ron Ron," The Ronettes' "Be My Baby," as well as Tina Turner's "River Deep Mountain High."
A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Love has also been featured in the Oscar-winning film 20 Feet From Stardom, and during her acceptance speech, she belted out an impromptu version of "His Eye Is On The Sparrow," for which she received a standing ovation.
This past summer, she celebrated her 75th birthday with a free show at Lincoln Center.
