80's teen queen Tiffany chatted with Digital Journal about her upcoming show at Gramercy Theatre in New York, as well as her new album.
Tiffany will be playing Gramercy Theatre on September 7, as part of "Tiffany: Stories, Hits and More!" "This tour has a living room feel, that you can come into our world and have that connection," she said. "I am so excited to play Gramercy Theatre. I have so many dear friends in New York. It's an awesome feeling to reconnect with a lot of people."
Her new album that she released is called A Million Miles, and it features the single "Right Here," which is a tribute for her fans. The CD is available on iTunes. "I had titles, stories and experiences that I wanted to talk about. The title track is really about the last five years of my life, and people passing away. It's not a sad album, but it's a reflective album. I had so many family members stricken with cancer, and to go through that journey with somebody is sad, and makes you think about yourself and the memories you had with that person, and all the things that incorporated that person into your life," she explained. "I love all my co-writers since they really do work with me, and they give me a lot of encouragement. We wrote a lot of beautiful songs for this album."
The songstress had nothing but kind remarks for Jessie's Girl, the popular 80's tribute band. "I love them. They are my buddies, but I am also a fan. I love performing with them and watching them perform. They really are amazing musicians, outside of the 80's songs that they do, and that's why they are so good. They are very multi-talented, warm-hearted and fun to be around," she said, praising Jessie's Girl.
Two of her songs reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the late 80's, including "Could've Been" and her signature tune "I Think W'ere Alone Now."
The key to longevity in the music industry for Tiffany is "having good family and friends, and loving what I do."
