On his latest radio single, "You Look Like I Need a Drink," he said, "I'm excited about it. It's right around the Top 10, and it is still going the right way, so that's exciting. It's been a little while since we've had new music out to radio, and to have the first single be so successful is an exciting way to kick off the new album."
Regarding the song selection process of the forthcoming CD, Moore said, "It was a slow process and a little different than what we have done in the past. I think I needed a little bit of a break, and we slowed down a bit. It also gave us time to go in the studio and do some things that we've always wanted to, but never had the time to. It allowed us to find songs and write songs that otherwise we wouldn't have. I am hopeful that the additional time we took is reflected in the music. That was the goal."
He listed "Life In the Livin'" and the title track "Kinda Don't Care" as his two favorite songs from the new album.
An Arkansas native, Moore dubbed this new project as the "most complete album we've delivered." On August 12, Moore will be performing live at the "All American Summer Concert Series" in New York for Fox & Friends.
In 2014, Moore was crowned "New Artist of the Year" at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards. "That was a very special night for myself, obviously, and even more so for all the people who bust their butts for me everyday, and all the time I've had to spend away from my family. It was really special for a whole lot of people. It was a night I won't forget," he said, graciously.
A loving husband, he is a father to three daughters, and is one who is able to balance a music career and a family. "I have a lot of help," he said, with a laugh. "I have an awesome wife. When I'm home, we maximize the time we spend together. It's all about them."
He had nothing but the kindest remarks for country songstress Ashton Shepherd, whom he dubbed as his dream female collaboration choice in the genre. "I have so much respect for Ashton. She's a great person too. She's very traditional with her music, and I'm a huge fan," Moore said.
