With Adrien Broner out of the race as Manny Pacquiao's next foe, Bob Arum hopes Terence Crawford wins over Viktor Postol next weekend to trigger serious talks about the proposed Pacquiao-Crawford fight.

Broner has just been taken off Arum's shortlist of possible opponents for Pacquiao, who is working on a possible ring return after a brief period of retirement. Arum said Broner priced himself out in a race for a lucrative fight against Pacquiao.
“Broner asked for an amount that I can’t afford that made no sense and so we passed him by, which let me tell you, saves about five years off of my life,” Arum said.
The 26-year-old native of Cincinnati, Ohio could have been a top contender even if Crawford wins over Postol in title fight scheduled to July 23 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
Broner will blend well with Pacquiao in terms of generating revenue for the proposed fight because of his ability to hype his fight to generate public interest.
Now Crawford is back as Pacquiao's next possible opponent but he needs to win against Postol to become the leading contender for the lucrative Pacquiao fight.
Arum is also considering Danny Garcia for inclusion in his new shortlist. Garcia is unbeaten in his pro career and and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Robert Guerrero in January. But Garcia, who used to fight twice a year, may not be able to wait till the end of the year when Pacquaio will be given a break from the senate for his return fight.
Aside from Garcia, Arum is likewise considering Jessie Vargas, who holds the WBO welterweight title. Vargas is fresh off a TKO win against Sadam Ali last March.
It is also possible Arum may consider Postol if he wins over Crawford next Saturday.
