During the traffic stop, the officer checked the man's license and registration. When the officer walked back to the man's car, he peeked into it and saw the man portioning out cocaine from a glass vial.
The officer's dashboard camera captured the exchange. The officer can be heard asking the man what was in his hand and he asked him if he was about to snort coke right there on the side of the road.
The man was startled and he spilled his cocaine. Initially the driver told the officer that it wasn't cocaine and it was vitamins. However, the man eventually admitted it was cocaine.
In the video, the officer can be seen speaking to the man and telling him he doesn't understand why he would do that right in front of a cop and it made no sense to him. The man agreed with the officer, telling him it didn't make any sense to him either.
The man also told the officer he has never received a traffic ticket, and the officer said he noticed that when he was checking his license and registration. He added he was just going to give a warning. Instead of receiving a warning, the driver was arrested for narcotics possession.
