Rapper Wyclef Jean to sing Haiti anthem at Floyd-Berto fight

Popular Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean is off to Las Vegas, Nevada to sing the national anthem of Haiti before the opening round of the Floyd Mayweather-Andre Berto fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday night.

Berto, whose parents are from Haiti reached out to fellow Haitian star Jean to perform the "La Dessalinienne" to highlight his biggest career fight against the world's richest athlete.
The two-time welterweight world champion and the current WBA welterweight interim champion was lucky to have been chosen by Mayweather as his opponent in what he calls his retirement fight on Saturday.
Mayweather has been criticized for picking Berto over superior opponents including Amir Khan, Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter, among others. Berto, who is a 30-1 underdog is 3-3 in his last six fights.
Jean, who is also an actor and producer has been a key figure in the post earthquake rehabilition in Haiti following the earthquake devastation in 2010.
The Grammy Award-winning artist is the head of Yele Haiti, a foundation that has been actively working on the delivery of basic needs of the people of Haiti who were victims of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that killed over a hundred thousand people. Read more:
The fight will be the last of Mayweather's $200 million six-fight contract with CBS/Showtime. According to Mayweather it will be his retirement fight.
The Mayweather-Berto fight will be shown of Showtime pay-per-view. At stake is Mayweather's WBA (Super), WBC & The Ring welterweight titles.
